First, Cinderella had a quite miserable life, and most of us think we have it too. She went to the king's ball at the first place and that changed everything. She knew she deserved to be happy and she didn't cry during her lonely hours thinking how fortunate her cousins are.
Instead she decided to go and there lies the key point. One of my best friends once told me “Happiness is a decision and it doesn't take anything else to be happy". Its the decision of yours that can change everything.
Second, the step that Cinderella took could have led her to a more dreadful life. She had the courage to dream of the change that came. Most of the time we don't think like this and we never want to come out of our past hangover. It doesn't matter how good your luck is, if you don't want to come out of your past and dream of a better future, luck is of no help.
Third, Cinderella was wise and confident. She didn't run to the dressing room to check her lipstick when the prince offered her a dance. She didn't cry at the midnight complaining her miserable life either. She knew if the prince truly loved her, he would be coming. This shows the amount of confidence you need to have in yourself and your partner. You really need to give others the space and time to think.
Fourth and the most important point is magic exists. Not everyone has a god mother or godfather like Cinderella to rise. For a kid it might be the witch who can turn a pumpkin into a cab or rats into horses but for us it is our will power and attitude towards life that can turn a cycle into a Ferrari or a petrol pump attendant into an oil baron.
To achieve all the above we have to go back to the first point and first decide what we truly want. I came across a good line in a Harry Potter book which says.
"It is our choices far more than our ability that makes us, what we truly are."
